I'd never so much as touched a Spiderman comic book before. I knew about Spiderman after the movies came out, and then I began to poke around the Spidey universe for kicks; read some old comics, namely. And there was this one villian that I thought was particularly cool - THE LIZARD!!! Actually my favorite is Venom, and I may do something with him later. . . but here's the Lizard - transforming from mild-mannered Dr. Connor into his familiar reptillina visage.
This started, as usual, as a simple sketch that quickly raged out of control. Before I knew it, I was halfway through pencilling all those tiny little scales on Lizard's neck and wearing my eraser to a nubbin trying to 'tap' light effects onto him - but I think it turned out pretty good. I need to start training myself to do more severe light sources. . . my lighting looks a little too soft.
That looks amazingly well done Falcon.
Although the light source isn't strong, you can still see a general idea of where it is.
And that is a fantastic job of the clothing. I see seams, I see a torn button, I see lose threads. It's one of the best shows of ripage I've ever seen. You should be proud. :3
(Now if only it wasn't a png so I could save it to gawk at later. ._.)

Ah great detail on the scales, and IMHO the lighting does look soft but it's still so greatly done. Ah Dr. Conners kicks ass... and the Lizard persona is cool too. Ah just a pity that Dr Conners doesn't keep the arm after reverting from Lizard form.
AWESOME!!!! I always loved the Spiderman cartoon and The Lizard was always oine of my favourite villains... along with Rhino, Mysterio, The kingpin and Venom

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
Have a great time everyone and please fav this article so as many people can see the featured works. I would recommend seeing each one and faving them too.
